The preview opens in a new tab

The generated ro-crate-preview.html uses in-page links (:target) to expand and collapse tables, which don't work inside an embedded frame. It opens in its own browser tab instead.

That tab shows a live in-memory copy (the File System Access API never exposes a real file:// path), so browser features like Save As can behave unreliably on it. For those, open the file directly from your folder instead — the real one is already there on disk.
